To expand the channels of foreign exchange for the College and to cultivate contemporary university students with an international perspective, Associate Dean Liu Xin hosted a video conference with Hanyang University in South Korea on April 26th. During the meeting, the two parties introduced their schools and reached a cooperative agreement. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Korea will be signed.

Hanyang University was founded in 1939 as a comprehensive university based on a polytechnic university. Hanyang University is ranked 146th in the QS World University 2021, listed in the top 10 local universities in Korea for five consecutive years and is known as the 'MIT of Korea'. Hanyang University's ERICA campus accepts overseas students in the fields of Computer and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Software Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, Management, Economics and Finance.
Associate Dean Liu Xin introduced Guangzhou Institute of Technology and Industry (GITI). Established in 1995, located in the 'Guangzhou-Foshan-Zhao' economic circle, it is qualified to provide higher education, allowed to admit international students. The campus is located both in Guangzhou and Foshan, two cities with a GDP of over trillion dollars. The campus is well-equipped with international education facilities and resources. The campus covers a total area of 1,390 acres and has 12 on-campus experimental and practical training bases. Currently, the School of International Education has 2,000 students and is expected to reach 4,000 by 2025.
Liu Xin put great emphasis on the cultivation of students' practical ability. He mentioned that the College of Commerce and Industry is located in the developed province--Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay Area in China. In recent years, it has built an open college e-commerce (cross-border e-commerce direction) with Alibaba, also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the provincial logistics industry association. Our college encourages the integration of industry by setting up a smart cold-chain industry school, emphasis on the comprehensive quality cultivation of talents studying abroad.
Mr Han Jinlin, representative of GIT Korea Representative Office; Liu Fengrong, Director of International Office of Hanyang University; Kim Bo Kyung, Section Head of International Office of Hanyang University; Park Young Sook, teacher of International Office of Hanyang University; and Lee Jin Yi, Officer of General Office of International Education attended this meeting. After the meeting, the team decided to actively expand the channels of international exchanges, provide students with more opportunities.
