On May 7, the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Guangdong Province issued the Notice on the Establishment of Guangdong Doctoral Workstations in 206 Units, the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University included. It also announced the list of new units of Guangdong Doctoral Workstations for 2021.

The Guangdong Doctoral Workstation is an innovative platform for the management and service of doctoral talents in Guangdong Province, which mainly aims to attract and gather doctoral and post-doctoral talents, realize attracting, using, retaining and serving doctoral and post-doctoral talents; provide scientific research, project declaration, preparation guarantee, friendship and exchange services for doctoral and post-doctoral talents, and play the function of a talent service platform. With the platform of the doctoral workstation, the university can cooperate with other units in production, learning and research, help scientific and technological enterprises to overcome technical difficulties, and play the role as a base for the transformation of achievements.

The approval of our doctoral workstation shows that our university has a certain scale and level in terms of scientific research capacity, scientific research achievements, scientific research platform and scientific research team construction. In the future, the university will conscientiously implement the management system and relevant requirements of Guangdong Province on the work of doctoral stations, do a good job in the construction of doctoral stations, give full play to the advantages of the platform, and provide intellectual support for the development of the university and serve the local economy.
