From May 6th to May 10th, the 2021 National University Business Elite Challenge International Trade Competition and Economic and Trade Exhibition Innovation Practice Competition finals were held in Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center. Under the support of the leaders of the School of International Education and the guidance of the teachers, after the teachers and students worked hard to prepare and competed in multiple links in the national competition, the two student teams of the International Education School of Guangzhou Institute of Technology won the second prize and the third prize. Awarded 1 item of outstanding achievement, and our school won the 'Best Institutional Organization Award' at the same time.
The National College Business Elite Challenge (abbreviated as CUBEC) was initiated and led by the Commercial Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in 2012. Nine competitions have been successfully held and the scale has been continuously expanded. It has been included for the first time in the academic competition ranking list published by the China Higher Education Association in 2021. It is currently the only professional international trade event in the academic competition ranking list. The purpose of the event is to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the students' comprehensive quality and ability to use knowledge in international trade through a real exhibition format, improve students' ability to use knowledge in professional fields, and promote the improvement of colleges and universities in international trade teaching.
The National University Business Elite Challenge has two professional competitions, the International Trade Competition and the Economic and Trade Exhibition Innovation Practice Competition. After the internal selection and recommendation of each participating college, there are 116 participants from 21 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangdong. More than 1,800 contestants and tutors from 210 participating teams (including 196 undergraduate groups, 9 higher vocational colleges, 1 international student group, and 4 minor language groups) from colleges and universities entered the national finals.
In this competition, our school's participating teams are mainly composed of 18 and 19 international economics and trade majors from the Second Department of the International Education College. It took more than 2 months from the event presentation and mobilization in March, the formation of students’ teams, the search for products and manufacturers, the school selection in early April, and the finals in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province in early May. The students and instructors used their spare time to prepare carefully. Match. Based on their keen market insights and analysis of the international trade market, the participating students in our school finally chose Bluetooth headsets, automatic induction sterilizers and other electronic products to compete. The innovative thinking, fluent English communication skills, solid basic business skills, good international trade knowledge reserves, excellent overall quality and teamwork spirit demonstrated by the students in the competition have left a deep impression on the judges, enterprises and business people. Impressions have won unanimous praise.
The team arrived at the Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center on the 7th. After a simple arrangement, the team began to intensively set up the exhibition.
The next day, the game officially kicked off. The students of the National Academy of Chinese Academy of Sciences performed well throughout the whole process, and were able to use professional knowledge such as product information, packaging methods, trade terms, payment terms, and shipping terms. When talking with the judges teachers, they also talked eloquently and generously, and the negotiation atmosphere was very enthusiastic. The judges teachers also kept smiling and nodded in agreement.
The National University Business Elite Challenge International Trade Competition and Economic and Trade Exhibition Competition include Chinese participation plans, booth poster design and merchandise display, English new product launches, and business matching trade negotiations. In the face of a series of challenges, our team is not afraid, and steadily moves forward.
In this competition, the team went through an intense preparation period, under the leadership of teachers Wen Yesheng and Cao Di, majoring in international economics and trade, to strive for perfection in each link. After a day and a half of on-site practice sessions, the team competed fiercely with 210 participating teams. Finally won the second prize and third prize. The participation in this competition has been fruitful, and it is also a test of the college's emphasis on practical teaching in various majors in recent years and encouraging students to participate in various skill competitions.
Through such professional competitions, the college’s 'Ethics' educational thoughts and 'five enters' practical activities are actively practiced.
