English Corner Review | 舌尖邂逅英语,美食社交圆满落幕

4月15日晚,我院英语角活动在综Ⅱ-202智慧教室顺利开展。本次英语角以“Foodie Social——美食社交局”为主题,打破传统口语学习的拘谨感,打造了一场沉浸式的趣味语言盛宴,吸引了众多同学踊跃参与、积极互动,在轻松活跃的氛围中感受语言与美食的双重魅力。

On the evening of April 15th, the English Corner of IES III was successfully held in Smart Classroom 202.

With the core theme of“Foodie Social”, this English Corner broke the formality of traditional English communication, creating an immersive and interesting language feast that attracted many students to participate actively and interact enthusiastically, allowing them to feel the unique charm of the collision between English and food in laughterandjoy.

【活动回顾Review】

PART 01 趣味破冰 Ice Breaker

活动伊始,PATIENCE老师通过“Naming Game” 等破冰游戏迅速点燃现场气氛。同学们依次介绍自己的名字,在短时记忆、顺序接龙的互动中,快速适应英语表达节奏,轻松融入温馨活跃的交流气氛。

At the beginning of the event,SEGLAHPATIENCEAFIquickly ignited the on-site atmosphere through ice-breaking games such as the“Naming Game”. Students took turns introducing their names, and in the interaction of short-term memory and sequential solitaire, they quickly adapted to the rhythm of English expression and easily integrated into the warm and active communication atmosphere.

PART 02 趣味互动 Food Chain Game

在互动环节中,PATIENCE老师组织同学们开展“食物接龙”游戏。同学们需在前一位同学所说食物的基础上,快速补充新的食物名称,既考验记忆力,又锻炼词汇运用能力,现场轻松活跃,气氛持续升温。

In the interactive session, students took part in a “Food Chain Game”, where each student added a new food item to the list.

This activity not only trained their memory but also improved their vocabulary use, while keeping the atmosphere lively and relaxed.

PART 03 小组互动 Group Interaction

在进入情景模拟前,活动设置了小组互动环节。同学们根据人数分成若干小组,并在每组推选一名小组负责人协助组织讨论,快速凝聚小组力量。

在互动过程中,每位同学通过选择一个“幸运数字”来获取对应的讨论主题,主题围绕饮食习惯、餐厅体验等贴近生活的内容展开,引导同学们主动思考、大胆表达,提前梳理思路,为后续情景模拟做好充分准备。PATIENCE老师穿梭在各小组之间,耐心倾听、适时点拨,给予同学们引导与帮助,帮助大家突破口语瓶颈。

Before the role-play session, a group interaction activity was arranged. Students were divided into several groups based on class size, and each group selected a student leader to help organize the discussion.

During the activity, each student chose a “lucky number” to receive a discussion topic. The topics mainly focused on daily-life themes such as eating habits and dining experiences. This session aimed to help students prepare ideas and expressions for the upcoming role-play.PATIENCEmoved around the groups to provide guidance and support.

PART 04 情景模拟 Role Play

作为本次英语角的“重头戏”,情景模拟以“餐厅就餐”为场景,同学们分别扮演顾客、服务员及餐厅管理者等角色,还原真实就餐场景。

本次情境特别加入了“突发问题”设定,如上错菜、点单错误、顾客投诉等,让同学们在真实的交流场景中,学会用英语灵活应对、解决实际问题。在演绎过程中,不少小组忍不住笑场,趣味互动引发现场阵阵笑声,现场气氛轻松融洽,也让同学们的语言表达更加自然真实。PATIENCE老师在过程中及时给予引导和反馈,真正实现“在运用中学习,在实践中提升”。

In the role-play session, students simulated real restaurant scenarios by taking on roles such as customers, waiters, and managers.

To make the activity more engaging, unexpected situations were introduced, such as wrong orders and customer complaints. These moments brought lots of laughter and created a relaxed atmosphere, allowing students to use English more naturally.PATIENCE gave timely guidance and feedback in the process, truly realizing“learning in application and improving in practice”.

PART 05 自由交流 General Interaction

在自由交流环节中,同学们主动分享本次英语角的参与感受,纷纷表示本次活动形式新颖、生动有趣,与日常课堂教学模式有所不同,轻松无压力的氛围让大家更主动表达,参与感显著提升。

其中,“Naming Game”“食物接龙(Food Memory Chain)”以及“情景角色扮演(Role Play)”等环节,因其趣味性强、参与度高,受到同学们的一致好评,成为本次英语角中最受欢迎的亮点环节!

In the feedback session, students generally found the English Corner interesting and engaging. They mentioned that the activity was different from their usual classroom experience and that they really enjoyed it.

All students were actively involved, creating a highly interactive atmosphere. Among all the sessions, the Naming Game, Food Memory Chain, and Role Play were the most popular and well-received.

本期英语角以“美食”为纽带,以“交流”为核心,通过“破冰互动—趣味游戏—小组互动—情景模拟—自由交流”的层层递进设计,将英语表达融入贴近生活的情境中,打破了不敢开口的语言壁垒。活动不仅提升了同学们的语言运用能力,更在轻松氛围中,逐步增强了大家的参与意愿与表达信心,使英语交流由“被动开口”向“主动表达”转变,为同学们搭建了一个展示自我、提升自我、交流互助的交流平台。
